Made the trip to Albany Tx from here in Stephenville Today. It was Albany's homecoming and we drove the old truck in the parade. We had a great time. Truck pretty good for it's first road trip. Took me about 2 hours to drive running around 55 MPH. topped her off with 7 gallons half way there and again on the way home. Gonna have to tighten up the steering a little, but other than that a pretty good days drive. Here are a couple pics. No other old ford like mine. Only other truck was a 69 chevy short wide 1/2 ton and around 7 cars.
Wow! Your truck looks great! I expected to see it looking like your avatar. Congrats on a successful trip. A good long run like that makes you think of the truck in a whole different way, doesn't it?!
Congratulations on a successful road trip, how do your shoulders feel after all that driving. You sure have a nice looking truck, bet you got plenty of thumbs up along the way, I never get tired of that.
Mike - That truck sure looks nice, If I recall correctly you started the overhaul early this year, amazing job. Congratulations on the road trip too. Please Post some pictures of the truck with your dogs in the back on your next hunt.
Again - Fine Job!
thanks guys. Yes rdemilt non stop for 9 months. Gonna have to replace some of the old gauges. I've got the oil and temp under the dash and I'm not liking the look. May just go with a aftermarket assembly. I've seen them on ebay for 250 or so. Jimmy your right on the shoulders lol.... It does Ross, reminds me of times were life was a lot simpler, time was slower and going over 55 was speeding. it was awesome.....
The truck is looking good, a lot accomplished in a short time.
Its always a joy to drive the trucks, as they do turn heads and encourage me to take the "back" way home. I cruise and enjoy all the work that went into them.
A friend of ours daughter really likes this color... She wanted the whole thing turquoise. I really like it too and it goes good with the black. I have some chrome hubs, but I like these better. I haven't painted them yet, they are the color I got'm.
For me the old mudders make her.... I sure like how she looks and rides.
Abe the old blue hubs came from my brother. His father-n-law had passed away a left him a 56 ford f100. He had these old hubs setting around not being used. Now their being used .....
Can you tell me the tire size and brand please?
Stock 16" wheels with bias ply tires and tubes?
Beautiful truck!
I love the hub caps and grille color with the black too.
I believe 7.50 16" bias ply tubeless 10 ply. I'll get you the brand tomorrow. the front came from a tire shop in town and the muddys came from simple tire.
