Does mike still work at 5 ⭐️. I recently purchased a Livewire TS+ from 5 ⭐️ because I have read so many forums that say if you have a v10 you must call mike and buy a programmer and tunes. I've read this is the best thing you can do to help these trucks. So I ordered one but wasn't able to get mike. I was wicked excited when it arrived. I loaded the 93 tow tune on a full month of running premium and went for a ride. I was expecting a better performing v10 Superduty. Instead I got a truck that holds the gears until it sounds like the trucks gonna blow, followed by a shift that would break ur back. So I tried 93 performance, 93 base, 89 performance, 89 tow, and the same for my 87 tunes. And they are all crap. I'm extremely disappointed. I can't believe I paid $700 for this back breaker all with no added performance. I've reached out to 5 ⭐️ approx 10 times (email and phone calls). asking for help and still nothing. I've taken off the truck and set it in my tool box and plan to leave it there until I find some other sucker who believes in 5 ⭐️.
That's kind of what I expected to hear based on what I've read. Everyone is happy with Mikes assistance. But what if every time you ask you get someone else Which always ends with each conversation more frustrating than the last. I've reached out approx 5 times for help with a configuration file for reading fuel pressure on the device display using an aux input I have wired in. First I was told first they didn't know how? Then that they don't use SCT datalogger, Next that they emailed SCT to help. Next was they're still emailing SCT. So after growing tired of waiting I moved on to the terrible tune by asking for help to adjust the Power enrichment tables, adjusting cruising air to fuel ratios and lastly transmission shift points to shift slightly earlier but still no response. Also this was all communicated 30-45 days before hurricane Matthew. I should of just bought Pro Racer. But can't afford to now. Does anyone want to buy it. PM me.
I'm not the Mike you want to hear from but I like my tune from them but wasn't real happy about the customer service I received or well didn't especially after all the talk on here of their great customer service.
Couldn't agree more. To me it looks like they must of worked really hard to get their name out their and then dialed it way back over the last few years. I've noticed the majority of the good comments you read in the forumsare more than a couple of years old.
I had SCT unmarry an X4 for the fee($150). I got it back with one stock tune, which didn't change much.. Tranny still shifted oddly at times with a lurch/lunge/ hard shift...
I bit the bullet and bought an 87 Perf tune from 5 Star. I couldn't be happier, but then I had no special needs other than a good tune. The tranny shifts fine no matter whether I stomp on it or not, and shifts smooth into every gear.
I've been using 5* on my last three trucks. Always good service. I emailed Mike two weeks ago to ask him a throttle body question and he responded in an hour, on a Sunday.
How can a tuner at 5 Star (not mike) tell me they dont use a data logger when i asked for help with setting up a fuel pressure gauge for a Livewire TS+? Does anyone have Mikes email. It sounds like he is my only chance at fixing the tunens that came with my livewire from 5 Star.
To the OP you don't say what year truck you have but I ordered a X3 a couple years back for my 2004 F350 with 5.4 and I didn't like it at all. Motor was the same as before, only difference was the shift timing and pressure. I kept it in for about a year then removed the tuner and did a full shift kit and couldn't be happier. My X3 is sitting in the closet collecting dust
I ordered a tuner in beginning of July this year, emailed the strategy code on a Saturday and had the tunes by Sunday morning. I'm definitely satisfied with the sevice provided.
I emailed Mike two weeks ago to ask him a throttle body question and he responded in an hour, on a Sunday.
I've had the same thing happen with Chris from 5 Star. I emailed on a weekend, not expecting a reply until at least Monday. Less than an hour later, there it was.
