I decided to try out 5 Star by getting the 87 perf tune. That's the gas I run so that's the perf tune I bought. It blew away the Ford tune, and also blew away SCT's stock tune(not much different than Ford's IMO. I wouldn't go to a high octane perf tune cuz I don't use high octane and what, other than stock do we have to compare to? And who sells 93 octane anyways?
How can a tuner at 5 Star (not mike) tell me they dont use a data logger when i asked for help with setting up a fuel pressure gauge for a Livewire TS+? Does anyone have Mikes email. It sounds like he is my only chance at fixing the tunens that came with my livewire from 5 Star.
kogelch,
Do you remember who you had spoken with? The majority of us in shop from sales, support, tuners, etc all use the LiveLink and similar software.
To the OP you don't say what year truck you have but I ordered a X3 a couple years back for my 2004 F350 with 5.4 and I didn't like it at all. Motor was the same as before, only difference was the shift timing and pressure. I kept it in for about a year then removed the tuner and did a full shift kit and couldn't be happier. My X3 is sitting in the closet collecting dust
SuperDutyScaler, send me an email with your serial number and what octane fuel you would like to use. I will send you over a revision for you run. I believe you will like the changes with an updated tune.
Does mike still work at 5 ⭐️. I recently purchased a Livewire TS+ from 5 ⭐️ because I have read so many forums that say if you have a v10 you must call mike and buy a programmer and tunes. I've read this is the best thing you can do to help these trucks. So I ordered one but wasn't able to get mike. I was wicked excited when it arrived. I loaded the 93 tow tune on a full month of running premium and went for a ride. I was expecting a better performing v10 Superduty. Instead I got a truck that holds the gears until it sounds like the trucks gonna blow, followed by a shift that would break ur back. So I tried 93 performance, 93 base, 89 performance, 89 tow, and the same for my 87 tunes. And they are all crap. I'm extremely disappointed. I can't believe I paid $700 for this back breaker all with no added performance. I've reached out to 5 ⭐️ approx 10 times (email and phone calls). asking for help and still nothing. I've taken off the truck and set it in my tool box and plan to leave it there until I find some other sucker who believes in 5 ⭐️.
To the OP.
I apologize for any misunderstanding with our customer service. We did reply back and forth through email and phone with you regarding the issue with the fuel pressure gauge. However we never said that we do not use SCT Livelink software, the comment was directed at hooking up parts store analog fuel pressure sensors to the livewire device and supplying you with a formula and gauge creation in order to properly calibrate the livewire to work with a analog fuel pressure sending unit mounted to your fuel rail.
However we did suggest a much less difficult alternative of simply hooking up an analog gauge that is designed to work with the analog sensor you installed in order to give you real time fuel pressure reading. Which from our conversations was the end goal.
We did however submit your request to the engineers at SCT regarding compatibility between the livewire device and your analog fuel pressure sending unit.
Also regarding the apparent poor tuning of you vehicle, we sent you over a PID list to use on August 30th to datalog your V10 and allow us to take a look at the shifting and fueling issues you are having.
However we never had a datalog emailed back to us for review.
We have tuned thousands of the Ford V10 platforms and feel pretty confident in the design and testing of the tune as well as our ability to correct any issues or make any changes the customer would like after the initial tunes are sent.
Without a datalog and customer cooperation through the revision process it is difficult meet everyone's individual tuning needs and expectations.

i had ethanol issues with my 2006 F350 5.4l, so I started using ethanol free 93 octane (lower octanes all have ethanol). When I got a tuner, I used the 93 oct tune.
Why make aux inputs if you can't support them. The Livewire have two aux inputs with customizable gauges that can't be used apparently. Im guessing your over reaction is because you realized I was referring to you. But you don't want your bosses to ask anymore questions so you'll try to make me feel or look stupid instead. The same guy who said we don't use live link here very much. So clearly your a copier and pasted. This wasn't meant to be a personal attack. Just trying to find out if mike was still available to help fix my jacked tune since I had no success with yourself. Your correct we did talk back a fourth until the third time you told me your waiting in SCT. This made it clear I'm on my own.
Heres our last conversation on 9-13-2016. My guess you dont know what WOT, TPS, or PE means
Hey price it's Chad. Did SCT get back to you about setting up my gauges analog input for a fuel pressure config. Also I have a few questions about my 93, 91, 87 tow tunes. What is the tps set at for WOT. And what is my PE (power enrichment) percentage set to come on at.
Also can you adjust my current TOW tunes for me. I need to drop the shift for 1st gear down from 24mph to 19mph. And drop second gear from 45mph to 38mph.
