Testing coolant
Has anyone tested there coolant when the truck has under 100k on it and found it to be bad, or needed booster added? My 2015 has around 31000 on it and I asked the dealer to test it for me. They told me it's not necessary and Ford doesn't even provide them with the test kit. The coolant in the main reservoir is a little darker than in the secondary reservoir but does it really need it at this low mileage? If I should test I am going to order the Rotunda kit from amazon but didn't want half the strip to expire before I get to use them. What do you all think?

I change mine at 1 year or 100K which ever comes first. But I don't flush. That introduces tap water to the system. I buy the premixed 50/50.
I believe that even when you are not driving it is still in contact with the metals in the truck. So the chemical reaction to the different metals is still happening and that is what you are protecting. It may be call antifreeze but it is the rust and corrosion inhibitors that are important.

Thanks for the response, but I think I posted to the wrong forum, should be in the 6.7 powerstroke area. What I was referring to was the pink oat based coolant used in these motors. A message pops up every so often to check coolant concentration. The dealer just seemed very uninterested.
I don't know if the new gassers use the same stuff or not but it looks to be the same color.

there os a tester at parts stores that will let you test the boiling point and freeze point, but it will not tell you if all the additives have been worn out.
coolant filters are also useful in keeping the particles of rust scales and mineral deposits from accumalating in your engine, radiator, oil cooler in the case of deisels
