Hey guys winter is coming and I want to start doing body work on my truck while I won't be hauling anything till spring. I plan on removing the bed to do body work and also paint the frame. I did some research and it sounds like I need temporary mud flaps and wire some temporary lights so I can still be legal on the road. (This is my daily driver and only vehicle)
Is there anything else I should be aware of when it comes to the legality of driving without a bed? Safety concerns?
Anything I should know before trying to remove my bed?
If it were me, instead of spending $$ on mud flaps & temp lights, I would go on CL & find the cheapest bed you can find. Swap it on, be road legal, and maintain the ability to haul whilst doing the work to your "good" bed

If you do go this route you will need the mud flaps and you will have to cover the tops of the rear tires with something if you want to keep your back cab windows.
Thanks for the advice everyone! I live in the south so I'm not to worried about poor weather, but I'm sure I can always strap some weight down in the back if needed. Can 4 guys lift the bed or will I need more like 6?
