EFI 460 head difference

I cant seem to find what I am looking for.

I know not all the refi 460 heads are created equal.
I was thinking the 88-94? was the more restrictive of the 2 and the 95+ being the better ones.

Can anyone confirm or debunk this? And what casting numbers should I be looking for?

E7TE's up to '92 and F3Te's '93 and after, the F3's being the better heads.
Re in"Car"nation High Performance - Home This guy talks about it in the EFI460 section.

Chamber size on E7TE and F3TE heads are the same. F3TE heads have slightly bigger valves and better ports.

Block wise, E7TE EFI engines have a shallow dished piston with low compression height making for bad quench. The F3TE engines have a deeper dish, but smaller compression height making for better quench. Overall compression is similar.

The f3 heads have better quench and are less likely to ping.

For that $ you could turbo and tune. And probably still be money ahead. Because in reality, headers would be installed anyway so add that to the price of the heads.

Or have custom injector bungs welded in any aluminum intake of your choosing and go to a good set of carb heads and run an aftermarket throttle body.

There were NOT a lot of 460 trucks made. Out of 550,607 f-series made in 1996 only 2960 had 460s. So NO, there is NOT a lot of demand
