Yep, the warranty comes in when you lose a major, expensive component...but really, those failures are few, and the items that are going to bankrupt you are very few. If you can afford a $70k+ truck, you probably have enough in the bank to cover a $10k unexpected repair that might happen once in a blue moon...

I just have always viewed additional warranty as a money-grab for the dealer or manufacturer or whomever happens to be offering it.
Not that it is indicative of things as a whole, but several co-workers and friends have been burned by having problems with their vehicles only to find out their warranty "does not cover..."

6 year 100000 ESP premiumcare with external lighting less than 2000 bucks. With a truck that depends on electronics for most everything cheap insurance. If you'd rather pay for issues as they come up so be it. I took the gamble.
