My name is colton, i drive a 1986 ford bronco ii 4 wheel drive with a 2.9 litre v6 engine with overdrive, well, drove. the truck ran perfectly fine up until a little over two weeks ago. i drove it to school in the morning and it was perfect and went to drive it home after school and it bogged out and died about 2.5 miles down the road. first instinct was to replace the fuel filter. after replacing the fuel filter and starting the vehicle it was still bogging out and dying so i kept giving it gas until the idle leveled out and then continued to drive it around. it ran great for 3 days, until the same thing happened. acted like it wasnt getting gas, bogged out, died, would not start again. listened for the in line fuel pump and it sounded bad so i went ahead and changed the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel filter again, no change. car will crank and sound like it wants to start but just wont. dropped the gas tank and replaced the whole low pressure fuel pump unit. cycled the pumps a few times, started it up and it was bogging out so i kept giving it gas until the idle leveled out, and then it ran fine for another 3 days. and then, take a guess, it bogged out and died again. tried starting it, wont start, put another new fuel filter in it because i thought well maybe theres some crud in the gas tank, no change. just replaced the tps, also no change. not sure what else to do guys, and help is appreciated, thankyou, colton
forgot to mention, will start up sometimes, but idle very very low like its not getting gas and then die off, and if i press down on the gas peddle during this time it will actually run worse and bogg out more. and the inertia switch was bypassed and hardwired by previous owner.
