I pulled my 20' trailer today after I just installed my class 4 hitch and curt adjustable hitch.
The truck pulled it fine but i could feel some swaying but that could be due to the wind we had today and my steering feeling a tad loose.
Im planning to tow my John Deere 5205 MWFD tractor with harrows, etc sometime. Im trying to figure out how I could make it not sway so bad.
Im thinking I will add a weight distribution to my trailer, some trailer brakes, and trailer sway bars.
My bronco has no sway bar and is lifted 4" on 35s. It also has a detroit locker..probably why it feels weird towing sometimes since ive never ran a locker. I also have hydrboost brakes so my brakes are great.
Im going to get rid of the shackle flip and get 4" deaver superflex leaf pack. I was debating about adding an air ride but dont want to ruin my offroad capabilities....thus Im kind of not wanting to add sway bars back to my bronco.
I think the Deaver springs would be an excellent idea as they are known for good flex off road and you could return the shackles to the normal orientation. I don't think auxiliary air bags would hurt a thing as long as you deflated them before off roading. Get yourself an equalizer hitch - best thing ever for towing... well... maybe behind trailer brakes!
