Remember Matthew was to head out to sea before NC? I live on the SE NC coast. They were very wrong. What hurts is there are so many transplants from up north they do not pay attention. They have no idea how to prepare or what to expect. I've been through enough to know it takes a cat 3 or more to blow the looters away. At 45' above sea level, no nearby rivers or streams, and nearly a mile from the beach I hang through a 1 or 2 and end up baby sitting those that should have left. Have to feel bad when they decide too late to leave and are in fear when 1 hits. When the power is out for more than 90 minutes some really panic when darkness hits. Forecasting is better than ever ~~ but far from exact.
