Well a deal on Toyo tires came for just this october, so I decided to pull the trigger on a set of 4 Toyo Open Country AT 2's. I'm getting them put on tomorrow, pics then...
So now that I got tires off the list, my next purchase will be a 4WD vacuum solenoid, as I would like that system to work this winter. After that, cab lights!
Do the cab lights correctly, so they don't leak and promote rust.
Someone once mentioned to use RTV, rather than regular silicone, because the RTV will flex and not shrink.
Thanks for the tip! Do you know of any thread that goes into great detail with lots of pics on how to do this? I don't want to screw it up, though my roof isn't exactly mint. Also, do these trucks have a harness plug or will I have to hard wire them in?

My early 99 didn't have the plug. But you can find the wires behind the passenger side right kick plate under the glove box. The roof lights were a bit intimidating for sure. I mean you are going to drill 15 holes in your roof after all . Measure 15 times drill once occasion for sure. I love mine though. Hope all goes well with the install.
I followed a thread when I did mine. I will see if I can dig it up.
So today I picked up and installed the vacuum hub solenoid, and to my surprise it didn't work. When I disconnected the vacuum lines they released a bunch of pressure, so I figured there were no leaks in the lines, so I figured that the solenoid was definitely the problem. I guess not. When a neighbor and I were troubleshooting it, no matter what position the 4WD selector switch was in, nothing changed at the plug going to the solenoid, electrical wise. There were 3 wires, one had constant 12V, the other 2 seemed to do nothing when the switch was engaged to 4WD. Could it be my switch that has gone bad?
So a bit of an update, some might have seen my thread on esof problems, and I have decided that staying in the cab and flipping the switch to lock the hubs isn't worth $100 per side just to rebuild the hubs.
As of last night I am convinced that I need a light bar on my truck. I was driving in last night's wind-blown snow and it was a little sketchy, and my headlights, while they are better than stock still don't quite cut it. I have been looking at rough country's 20" light bar, they seem to have pretty nice stuff. Has anyone used one on their truck or is there a better alternative or possibly one for less money?
