Just curious of pricing for new (15 pass) club wagon vans powered with the 6.0 E350?
Do they have options to equip these with luxury-leather interior with out a carpet. (Kids)
Having an upholstery buisiness, and also needing enough power to pull a 4 horse trailer has me thinking a van nicely equiped would be considered.
I'm wondering if the Club wagon E2-350 runs close to the F350 quad at around 45-50k
Thanks-D
I'm fairly sure the vans have the Diesel option
I wouldn't be in a big hurry about spending 50k on a new 6.0 van as Ford isn't supposed to start producing the 2004 engine(s) with all the engineering updates and changes until sept. 29th. Even then how long will it take for those new engines to be incorporated into the production scheduling. Ford is going to work very hard to SELL all the 2003 engines that they incorporate into the 2004 models before they allow Joe public to raise two hoods , side by side, and check the build dates on each engine. Otherwise, the dealers, will really have to discount all 2004 models with 2003 engines , unless of course , Ford decides to put '04 stickers on '03 engines. ........sk
I'm not sure where you're getting your info, but I just got a quote on a 2004 E-350 diesel cargo van at $25,960 - and that's here in the San Francisco bay area where everything's more expensive (average home $350,000). As for Ford trying to dupe you into buying last year's engine, that's really off the wall, since the 2004 diesel vans will have the new 6.0L diesel with a new tranny which replaces the 2003 7.3L. In fact, Ford won't offer the September 2004 E-350 vans with a diesel option until their late availablity in December (the E-250 will not have the diesel option).
Of course, with the introduction of a new engine and transmission there may be some bugs that have to be ironed out, so being the first one on your block with the new 2004 diesel club wagon may not be such a good idea. However, Ford has had at least a year of experience with the 6.0L in the F-series pick-ups and hopefully has straightened out the injector problems they were having. Whether the E-350 diesel will have an intercooler may still be in question, since there wasn't room for one with the 7.3L in the 2003 model, and, from what I can tell, the body style hasn't changed to allow room for one in the 2004s. Without an intercooler the 7.3L diesel created too much heat and had to be detuned causing a decrease in the horsepower when compared to the F-series pick-ups.
As to flooring, there is a full length vinyl covering (option #166) that is available. As to leather seating, it is available on captain's chairs only (option LE/LW), but you have to get the expensive power driver seat option to qualify (option 90P). This year there is a center aisle seating package you might be interested in (look at option #66Z for 14 passenger or option #66W for 11 passengers). Good luck.
I was told today that you can only order a new truck with a 6.0 diesel, these trucks are no longer being built with the bad engines in them and Ford too is waiting for the new engines
