4 X 4 Conversions ?
I plan on purchasing a 1959 - 1966 ford 4 X 4 in the near future. I'd prefer a factory original 4 x 4. what are some indicators that a 4 x 4 is a conversion ? would the VIN indicate a 4x 4 ?

You will know a original 4x4 front when you see it on a older truck . They have a closed knuckle front end on them . I would say anyone swaping a 4x4 front end would go to a open knuckle. Got pics if you want to e-mail me

The Closed Knuckle, has the axle joint inside of a round Ball shape housing, you can not really see the joint with out removing the hub . The open knuckle is as it sounds, open you can see the axle joints. Need any Pics e-mail me jstuddard@wavecomputers.net
