2005 F250 6.0L. driving down the hwy yesterday and vehicle just died. it will turn over but wont start. got towed to my house, put 2 gal of diesel in it just in case fuel level read bad, still wont start. i am thinking fuel pump/filters. any other suggestions? i checked fuses and hit reset button already. thanks
I'm doing my STC fitting right now,it blew the back plate out so I have a mess.Check to see if you have a oil leak on the back passenger side of the engine(you got to go under the truck and look up by the up pipe). If it's leaking oil you definitely got a blown STC fitting. You should get codes for low oil pressure. A good code reader is a good idea to get you back on track.
yes, there is fuel coming up to the fuel bowl. had some welding done on my front bumper last week and the welder said that he saw a few drops of oil coming out of the area where ya'll said to check. and as i try and crank the truck over, i have no oil pressure on my dash indicator. i will have to get a good code reader to check oil pressure.
i am not quite sure what the STC is, where it is located, or how easy it would be for me to fix my self without having a mechanic do it.
Have you got a device to read live date, like a scan gauge II or Torque Pro? You need to see ICP and IPR%.
STC is the Snap To Connect fitting that connects the High pressure Oil pump to the oil rails that feed the injectors. You need at least 500 psi of oil pressure to start the truck and a scan gauge can see that data. Also a code reader could read the OBD code for low pressure P2285 Low Injector Control Pressure.

So your oil pressure gauge is not coming up to the halfway point whilst cranking after a few seconds, or never?
Need base oil pressure before you can feed the HPOP, comes from the LOP pump down by the flywheel, might be as simple as the regulator.........
That leak you saw is not likely an STC, if they blow that bad you would not have got it out of the shop after he spotted it.
