Welp. I've got the servos back in and the bands adjusted, pre filled the torque converter and got it splined on the snout. Nothing left now but go install the tranny, transfer case, drive shafts, cross members and exhaust and hope it all works.
Not so far. Strap broke on my tranny jack. Tranny fell off. Pretty well trashed my right shoulder keeping it from hitting the ground.
Modified the jack so the tranny would ride square. Got it stabbed back to the engine and the torque converter bolted in. Pretty well called it a day after that.
Ouch!!!!
Wait! What! I would have thought a weightlifting guy like you would just do presses with a trans, always fun holding one up with one hand and your knees while trying to get a bolt started. Filled more than one pair of boots with fluid that way.
Yeah.... when you're expecting 100lbs it ain't much, but suddenly having to reach out and stab it as it goes by is a different story. It's feeling much better today. I no longer think it tore anything.
Called off work Friday so I can finally put this stupid thing back together.
Greetings to my fellow FTE's from Booneville. Moved here recently and just thought I would check in. Anyone else in the Booneville/Greenwood/Fort Smith general area?
Cool. I bought the old VFW hall in Booneville as a residence. If you get in the area, swing by, would be nice to meet someone from here with shoes and shirt! (When you see my neighbors you'll understand).

Hey everyone. Once upon a time I joined the AR chapter and then sold my SC and regretted it (told they guy I regretted it as he counted out the money to buy it, before it was even technically sold). Have a 78 now and I'm back on here. I'm in Jonesboro if anyone gets up this way and is in a bind.
Since the chapter has been so dead lately I changed the title of this thread to the fourth quarter thread. That way nobody has to worry about starting a new one until January.
Just saying Hi from Eureka Springs area. I have a 1983 f150 4x4 4.9 c6 project going on. I bought it a couple months ago with 60000 miles. It has sat a lot and all the door and window rubber is rotten. The dash is cracked worse than any I've ever seen. The seat looked perfect but every time I climb in I hear/feel seams pop.
It had a brand new gas tank when I got it. I removed the smog pump and a ton of melted broken vacuum lines just to get it running. I now have it on the road and running good. The truck was originally owned by Boone county and was the Harrison Dog catcher truck.
I'm looking for Door panels, seat and a dash if anyone knows of anything.

Any particular color? I have an 86 sitting in the bushes that I could part out, not sure of the condition of these items. The interior on this one is red.

Not picky on color. I will paint if needed. Mine is manual windows and locks with the locks on top.
I don't mind a little repair on the dash but mine is cracked allover the place and you can poke your finger through the door panels in most places.
