Since the chapter has been so dead lately I changed the title of this thread to the fourth quarter thread. That way nobody has to worry about starting a new one until January.
I haven't been checking in here lately either.. guess this is my quarterly visit.
Time for batteries again on the pickup, any recommendations?
Walmart has a battery made by Johnson Controls that is $50. Yes really, but I don't think I bring myself to do that to her. Sams carries a group 65 AGM for $150.

I've had one of those cheap Wally world batteries in my tractor for a year and another in a Toyota for severl months with no problems. I just put one in our family car yesterday. I know the service manager at the local wally world and he tells me they've had fairly good luck with those value batteries.
Napa is my go to place here but I have no luck with Napa batteries.

Joe, I've had great luck lately with Continental batteries. The set in my 97 PSD are 2 years old and going strong. Have a set of group 31s in my old IDI that are 5 years old.
Great news, fellas, I ain't dead!
Life happened and I closed my shop on Jan 1st of this year. We sold a couple of the bikes and my Slick(thus my absence from the forum)and then we took off in the motor home for a vacation.
Headed to Florida in January(got my Jeep stolen in a campground in MS on the way)spent a couple of weeks at Ft Pickens and the day before we left I saw on the news that it had snowed back home. Made my first real decision as a retired guy and went to Louisiana for a week to let the snow melt.
So, a week later we're on the road home when my cell rings. Picked it up and it's a park ranger in Tennessee calling to ask if I wanted my Jeep back. So then we went to TN. to pick it up. First vehicle I ever owned that I kept full coverage on after it was paid for...boy was I happy! The insurance paid enough to replace everything they stole or broke on the rig and I'm pretty much whole again.
Anyway, in May we took off for War Eagle as usual with intentions to visit my kids who moved to North Dakota and then loop through the West visiting a bunch of National Parks for the 100th anniversary. Got as far as Watertown, SD when we got a call asking if we'd like a job camp hosting at the north rim of the Grand Canyon for 5 months. Well, of course we did. Was a blast, got paid, spent the summer in a beautiful place that never got over 90 degrees but 3 times the whole summer, has no bugs, no snakes, and best of all, no humidity.
So, in that 5 months of living in the RV, we came to the conclusion that we like the lifestyle and the decision was made to sell the rest of our crap and go full time.
Second decision was made to purchase a larger RV with maybe a slide in it.
This brings me to the point of the post...finally. Yesterday we purchased a 2000 Bounder 36S with the Ford chassis and the 310 horse Triton V-10. Waiting for the title to get here from Cali before we take delivery, but already I'm cruising the RV forums to learn what I can about the coach. Decided to check into FTE to learn what I can about the drive train and figured I'd stop by and let you fellas know I'm alive.
Now to go change my sig.
It'll work out if the bank in Cali gets off it's butt and responds to my bank's request for the payoff amt and copy of title.
The guy I bought the m/h from is the retired police chief of Clinton, and he's almost as pissed at his bank as my wife is.
Thing is, I've now sold the old m/h(contingent on the arrival of the new, because we're staying in the old one).
I'm trying to give everyone some slack because of the holiday, and I realize that the bank probably ran a skeleton crew Friday, but if something doesn't shake loose tomorrow or Tuesday, I'll probably join my wife in a search for another one.
BTW, if anyone needs a set of camper mirrors that came off a '76 3/4t camper special, I have them. I think I also have a set of the round, stock mirrors for a Slick.
And various shop tools that might be of interest to someone with a fairly new shop building.
I just joined the site and have found a wealth of information! I have a 2005 F250 6.0 and love it!
I do have one request should anyone come across one... a white hood for my truck. Look I am as big of a fan as Arkie jigs as the previous owner I just dont want a huge sticker on the hood. It is no longer on there but I can get the residue off and I have tried everything! Also, if anyone knows where I can get a driver side front panel that goes over the front driver wheel I would be interested in that also.
Look forward to further conversation. If I can do anything please do not hesitate to ask.

So you need a hood and an inner fender. I'll keep an eye out. Welcome to the forum.
