My local truck shop is pushing me to the gator cover when I asked for retrax he said they're both exactly the same quality but he likes the gator better. Anybody have any experience with the gator rolll up cover ?
Thanks
I'm ready to order Retrax Pro MX. Searched several vendors online and all are selling for about $1900 for the 8' bed. Anybody have insight to any discounts or sales going on? Thanks.
Check tonneaucovered.com and see what deals they can get you. I called around and checked every price online and they were the cheapest. When you call and get a human being online they are pretty willing to find that extra $100 off that I couldn't find myself.

Mine is being installed as we speak on an 8' bed. $1700 with $100 to install. Local accessory shop is doing the work, they price matched the lowest they found online.

The Gator is just a re-branded Retrax Pro, several articles on this out there. I went with the Retrax but would not have an issue with the Gator tagged one either.

That's about the price range, the shorter box ones are less money of course.
The Retrax Part# is 80384 for the Ford/8ft box btw.
Also, the "MX" just stands for Matt Black finish, you can get Gloss also (no MX in model#). Same price as well. I went with the MX as I felt the Gloss as too hard to keep up. (looks pretty darn sharp detailed up however!)
Thanks to all. I ended up ordering from CARiD. 10% discount, free shipping, live chat support.
The discount was for being retired military/veteran. Just had to email the chat representative a photo of my ID. I may have been able to get cheaper elsewhere, but I love supporting businesses that recognize and openly support all our armed services.
Truck built yesterday, accessories getting ordered today...it's been a great week!

No idea that list existed. I was on live chat with their rep, confirmed the product, asked about the military discount, emailed them a copy of ID, they sent me a link to an invoice with the discount applied. ???
Perhaps the actual discount code they used was for something else?

Add a fairly strong friend when installing it, it's kinda heavy and awkward. I wish I had installed mine before "Brutus" got his much larger wheels and tires, it was quite the reach sitting at least 2.5" taller than the stock F450. That cover is the bomb, wish I had one on my 2008!

Thanks for the advice...I'll take any excuse to share a cold one with an old buddy!
