transmission removal

Hey I'm fixing to remove my tranny and clutch to fix a rear main leak; will I need to purchase metic sockets or will standards do the job? By reading the Chilton's manual getting the clutch off is a pain in the rear...any tips?

The best way to cover the tool issue, is go to somewhere like Sears and purchase the 144(or something like that) piece tool set. It comes with standard and metric 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drives. A few wrenches. Also you can pick up wrench sets cheap. Also you may want to open the box and look into buying whatever deepwells you may want. As far as special tools you can usually borrow them from somewhere like Autozone, if you don't feel like buying them. No tips that I know of, just take your time and follow the steps meticuously. Hope this helps.
