Tailgate assist
Has anyone installed a Hoppy Easylift on their tailgate? It's a torsion bar that reduces the effort to raise the tailgate. The description says for 92 &up F150 but it looks pretty generic to me. I want to put it on an 86 F150 Styleside

You may be right on the Bronco. I went ahead and ordered the bar and the package says it will fit 84 - 04 full size Fords. There is already a hole in the tailgate covered by a plastic plug that lines up perfectly to the bar. The instructions are sketchy and don't include older trucks. Only problem I have now is I don't have anyone around to help me lower the tailgate onto the bar. It really is a 2 person project. Once I get it on I'll update my post

Tailgate assist
Finally got someone to help me finish installing my Hopkins Easylift. Takes 2 if not 3 people to do it. easy install but don't use the template that comes with it on an older truck, just eyeball where the holes should go. As i said in an earlier post, the hole in the tailgate was already there. I can now close my tailgate with 2 fingers and when I open it can let it go without slamming down. Best $26.28 I ever spent ( Amazon ). You may be able to see in the picture that the paint on the tailgate rubs off because there is very little clearance but mines not a show truck, I just want function
