I'm looking at purchasing an E-350 ambulance conversion to travel in with my mobile catering business. I'll be hauling a 12x6 trailer and living out of it from town to town and event to event.
I would like to know what to look out for when purchasing an e-350. What are some common issues to be aware of? How do they do when hauling for miles on end? Has anyone out there lived in one? And how does the ambulance conversion affect the van mechanically, if at all?
Also where would the best place be for me start looking for something like that?
Any basic lowdown you guys could give me would be awesome!! Thanks!

JCX, these Ford econolines are generally very good for the money. The ambulance conversion companies vary both in quality and methods/products used. Also 2nd or 3rd owners find it sometimes impossible to get info from conversion companies. During the decommission process, if the company who owns it removes inverters, compressors, etc., before selling, they do it fast and sloppy. Ambulances can be an excellent purchase but can also be a nightmare. Check it out good or hire a mechanic to go over it BEFORE you buy it. All my best!
