Cooled Seats

I'm trying to find out if my cooled seats are working correctly. I understand they use a TED for heating and cooling, and I understand the limited capacity of TEDs. I've been reading other forums with F-150s and many people say they freeze their hind end off, to the point where they have to turn it down because it's uncomfortable. There's very little discussion with Super duties and cooled seats so I'm not sure if we have the same TED that they do.

I'd like input from you on how well your seat cooler works. I feel very little cooling on the bottom and no cooling from the back. I'll be opening up the back of my seat to poke around this afternoon if I get a chance.

I know at idle mine does not do much, but going down the road at speed it can get really cold

In my F150 you could hear the air coming out from the top of the seat (seat back) and the seat bottom would freeze your rear.

In my Super Duty I can feel the bottom get cold, though no where near as much as the F150. The only time I have felt anything from the seat back is when my shirt is damp from sweating. (sorry for that visual)

The cooled seats in my 2016 F350 get very cold on the base and lower back.
On a very warm day it can take a while, but I always have to turn it down.

So there's definitely a difference between how yours operates and mine. I can run mine for hours and never feel it on my back. I haven't had a chance yet to get in there and see if there's a problem but I'll try this weekend.

Can everyone hear a fan running while sitting in the seat? I haven't heard this fan yet but I've read that a fan should be audible.

Yes I can hear them running on mine and they get chilly. There's also a little replaceable filter for them.

I will agree that the seats in my 16 f250 do get quite cold. Haven't used them much at idle, but at speed, I do have to turn them down after a bit. I hear the fan after a while in the back area too.
