kid needs a ford truck
The good news is my son in law has gotten the ford fever from me. The bad news is now I have to find him a truck! Anyone got any leads on an under $1000 ford truck? Or good leads to auctions or stuff like that? Prefer the Calgary area but will travel if it's worth it.

Willing to spend up to $1000. Less is better. I'm really looking for a super deal like you got superfarmer250, free! A supercab would be nice as they have two small kids, a crewcab would be the ultimate but I won't hold my breath for that one. Amount of work to be done isn't a concern as long as it's a good deal. For instance a 4x4 crew for $500 that needs a ton of work would be fine or a 79 supercab for a grand that needs nothing might also be good.

Used car lots. Look in the very back row, where they put the cars and trucks that are one step away from the autowrecker or the auction.
Drive down back lanes in the city and and look out for old trucks in back yards.

Don't hate me. We scored a truck for the kid. It's not a Ford. We found a 70 international 1100 lwb pickup in really good shape with a galvanized cap, spare engine and a bed full of spare parts for $350 Canadian . It's a pretty cool truck, considering it's not a Ford.
