Good news/Bad news

The good news is that we purchased a shiny new F-350 truck..The bad news for this forum is it is a 6.4 Diesel. we have never had anything negative to say about our 05 V-10 (or any diesel for that matter) We pulled 13K 5th wheel all over the country with the V-10 , it did the job and exceeded any expectations we had about the V-10s abilities. We have stated on this forum and others that IMO at least 85% of the time the V-10 performes as well as the diesel. On long and steep grades and high altitudes the diesel is out standing. How we use the truck has changed and so must the truck..besides I wanted a new F-350 Ford. We will be noting the differences as we will have the same truck pulling the same camper over the same roads..except it will be a 6.4L diesel If it is Ok I will give a accurate and honest account of what we experience. The trusty V-10 will make its last pull this labor day weekend. It has done good....

Congrats on the new truck. I didn't really like the looks of the '08 at first, but now, I wish I had an extra suitcase full of money and I'd buy one (a V10 though). Here's to many years and many miles of happy hauling!!! Let us know how it goes!

Congrats on the new purchase. Look forward to hearing how the new 08 diesel will compare to your 05 V10. Enjoy that nice new shiny truck!

I'm hearing a lot of good things about the 6.4, except fuel mileage. Let us know how it compares. I think that the twin turbo is going to smoke anything out there at the high altitudes though.

Your reviews will be welcome.... your thoughts and experience are needed and I assume you will try to be as unbiased as any powerful Ford Superduty could be no matter what motor...I know I would never embellish my 11.5 to 12.5MPG experiances... Though I sure would like to!
