You should ask your dealer if the Payload is correct. I think it should be 3,920 lbs. Interesting that your spare is an 18" as well. Since it is a 70 the diameter is close to the same as your 20" 65's. At least it is not a little doughnut like the cars get!
Nice looking truck. Congratulations on finding one!!

As much as I wish it wasn't so, I think his payload sticker is correct. If you have reason to believe otherwise, I'm all ears.
Also, trucks with 20's have come with 18 inch spares since at least 2011, probably longer.

Actually this is a LONG bed so according to their site it should be more like 4400lbs...if I am reading it right.

I went to the specification chart and that is the payload listed for that vehicle. There may be some deductions for options but that is a pretty hefty hit on the payload for leather seats, plastic cameras and a moonroof.
I see that now. And my SC should have 4,700 lb payload if it ever gets built. I think Ford is the victim of the New Math. No one can produce figures with any accuracy, but they still get an "A" because they came up with an answer.....and maybe even a trophy for finishing the assignment!!
Welcome to the insanity! In what world does it make sense for the long bed to have more payload than the short bed when both trucks have a 11,500 GVWR? Are we to believe that the long bed is somehow lighter than the short bed? That chart has issues.

The diesel engine is the big hit, roughly 750lbs IIRC.
Beautiful truck! I have the exact same truck, but with a short bed. My payload is 3,430. The extra bed length, fuel tank, etc. does seem to reduce payload by just over 300lbs. Your payload is consistent with other long bed Platinums I have seen. The 4,400 is for a gas motor with base options.

When you read the payload chart it has a row for the diesel engine. I would think the payload would be corrected for the engine that the row represents and not something which is deducted after you get it home.

Hmm, the chart I'm looking at has rows for GVWR and columns for wheel base - no provision for engine selection at all. Therefore I read this to mean that the truck with 4400lbs of payload is a stripped down XL gasser. Are you referring to a different chart?
This is the chart I was thinking of and it does have the engine weight calculated in the figures. But the figures from one source do not necessarily correlate with the other.
