So Im putting a lift kit on this weekend. Old shocks are worn out/rusted out so I got new shocks. Taking the old ones off this morning, broke the bolt off of the hanger for the passenger side, also had to cut the bolts for where they bolt on down by the axle. Is there a way to repair the hanger? I had seen some YT videos on using some "doorman" kit? I didnt see a way to unbolt the whole bracket. Also does anyone know what size the bolts are for the lower bracket? I had seen that 1" long, and M8 x 1.25? Is this correct?
I think I got a plan. Im gonna cut the rest of the threads off, then drill thru the rest. Then tap new threads and hold the shock on with a bolt/washer deal. Should work right? I mean the bolt wont be taking any stress just keeping the shock from sliding off?
