vintage pics of days gone by

One click and done. Great new knowledge!
Ok, last pic of mom. This one is earlier and, to me at least, looks more like Henrietta than the others. Judging by my big bro's age (maybe 2-ish you think?) this would be circa 1943 in either CA or back in MD.
That was the year her first husband and Stuart's birth father died in a plane crash on Adak in the Aleutian Islands during the WWII going's on up there. Pic might even have been taken in Santa Cruz where she had rented a house while he was away flying PBY's in the war effort.
Sorry for the off-topic story. But I'll use any excuse to keep their story alive.
Thanks for putting up with it.

Circa '38 to '42-ish most likely while in Cincinnati at University.
Is that a Buick? Not portholes exactly, but same theme.
And dad always was a Buick guy...
But I'm determined to find some Ford shots in the family archive. I think I already posted my uncle's T-birds to this thread way back, but I'm lookin' for really old now.

Thanks for sharing. In the midst of rapid change seemingly everywhere, and to some of the very things and institutions we thought were resistant to change, it is good to see something somewhere that has somehow stood up to the forces of change, powerful as they are, and remains pretty much as it always was.
