My 2004 F350 is treating me well, though there is a quality of life issue here relative to the very abrasive chime that comes on when I leave the keys in the ignition. I reside on a small farm and can be in and out of that truck loading, unloading, checking fence every 4 minutes/50 yds. I just don't want to have to screw with extracting those keys each and every time I get out. Is there any way to kill this thing? I can live with the seat belt chime, though I wouldn't mind if it went, too. Any suggestions?
This worked for me, no parts removal.....no more key in chime... door ajar still chimes..... Will check actual seat belt reminder when I do my next errand!!
Did that mod to the ignition switch on mine and no more chimes! Unplugged the seat belt reminder and no chime for that anymore either.
Don't know why you would do that when you can use the last link to turn it off. Your vehicle information isn't visible, so I don't know what you're driving, but some vehicles use the sensors in the seat and seatbelt for airbag deployment computations.
