has anyone changed their muffler to get that nice rumble sound that a gas V8 can get ? I do miss that nice sound that my 2010 f150 had . Thanks again all

I'm not even clear on these newer trucks with the rocket which part is actually the muffler to be honest. There is the DPF, and SCR sections. Which section is the muffler? I think there isn't much you can do for changing the sound unless you do a delete.

The muffler is located behind the rear axle on the turn down right near the end of the tail pipe.

Technically it is just a resonator. The bulk of the quietness comes from the rocket ship underneath and requires a delete tune to be able to get rid of it. Replacing the filter-back pipe to eliminate the factory resonator does very little to change the sound or performance of these trucks.

I was given the same guidance when I looked into this. No real or perceptive gain by changing the cat back.

Only one way to get an aggressive sound. That rocket ship has to fall off.

I'm surprised these trucks even have a muffler with all of the other emissions stuff to muffle out any sound. Think of the money saved if no mufflers were put on these trucks.

Deleting these is the best mod available. They sound SO good when that happens.

If you remove the rocket ship and leave the resonator, you'll see that the resonator really does nothing to quiet the sound. It just adds tone.

Deleting is not an option in my state. Annual inspection required and my truck would receive a big colorful rejection sticker placed on the windshield.

In that case, you are stuck with peace and quiet.

Or yearly R&R's of the rocket ship, which wouldn't be much fun.
