Finally!

After years of looking wistfully at these old trucks and wondering if I would ever have the disposable income to have one...I basically had one dropped like manna from Heaven! My sister from San Diego asked if I wanted to go in on a great 1965 F250 Camper Special with her for nothing more than cost of transportation to Michigan. This beauty is in great shape even tho its been sitting idle for approx 8 yrs. The original owner recently passed away and his daughter literally gave it to my sister. He had bought it new along with a camper top which is also in great shape! We fully intend to keep everything as close to original as possible and enjoy the Midwest best. Interior is in super shape as well as the rest of the truck.I'll be gleaning the pages of this forum in order to get her back on the road..

WOW! thats a great find. Being a Calif truck it is probably pretty rust free. The camper over hanging the roof has probably help preserve the drip rails on the cab.. Good luck getting it back on the road.

OK, help me out here. I recognize the 66 grille, but how can you tell it's a 65?

The last 6 digits of the VIN decode to the month/year the truck was assembled.

Definitely a 1966 grill and fender emblem. Sweet find as it is hard to replicate original and I love the dark green.
