If I may chime in, the switch over to a tubeless 6 lug x 8.75" pattern wheel will give you two to pick from. Accuride 28157 and 28670, both 6.75" wide. Similar 5.94" and 5.93" offset respectively. Your 11R22.5" tires have a Design Rim Width of 8.25", with narrowest approved being 7.50". I agree it has a 12.5" dual spacing spec. A 10R22.5" tire works fine with either wheel having an 11.4" dual rear spacing standard. The 11" will be a squeeze. Stu
First issue would be finding a set of used wheels in a yard. Neither is still in production, but it hasn't been that many years that they've been out of production. I have no sources for the wheels or tires. Stu
So far no luck in yards. Not many up here. I got a few leads though and a line on a b model mack that runs and drives with a spare rust free body for 5k. Wish I hsd the money. Besides wheels, brakes are my biggest concern. I heard everything besides drums is available. And passenger side door lock "wheel" just spins.
I should add (after sleeping on it) that my wheel info was for old production Accurides, assuming the search of CL and yards. This might not be correct for the new reproduction import wheels, and would certainly not be correct for ones that Wheels Now can custom build for you with added width and offset. These are questions to ask Wheels Now. Stu
So those aren't the widow makers? I thought the rivets meant they were. There's a shop where the seller (my father in law) bought those tires and they said to bring them in and they'll see wat they can do. I might keep running these or new ones if they're the same price.
On a side note, is the brake pedal gonna be really stiff to the point it doesn't move if the truck is off? Gotta pull carb too, throttle is stuck and needs accelerator pump.
Wheel(s) pictured are 22.5" tubeless. The rivets say they are older design, maybe narrower width than would be ideal, but still the most sought after replacements. They came with either 5.25", 6.00", or 6.75" width. Narrowest tire today is the 9R22.5" which is spec'd for the 6.00" and 6.75", but not the 5.25". Guys do use them on the narrow 5.25" rims and claim there are no issues. Stu
