I am considering getting a 3m clear bra on the sides of my truck done. I use my truck for hunting and lots of scratches occur from trail usage. Anyone have experience or should I stick to wax?
Clear bra is an excellent product, especially for the hood, fenders and lower quarter. Downfall is upfront price but in a couple years you will thank yourself because your truck will still look brand new instead of seeing all those rock chips
If you use a vehicle for hunting, fishing, camping and heaven forbid, work, then those incidental marks can be chalked up to an added layer of patina. Enjoy the new then use the heck out of it, after all it is still a truck. Besides the guys at camp will always mock you if you are constantly fretting over the mud and the blood and the beer!

I have a similar thought, but it won't be clear. I'm not a fan of CHROME. Ford offers a Sport Appearance Package on the F150 but stopped doing that and/or the FX4 package in 2009 on the Super Duty. So my newest thought is instead of trying to paint the chrome bumpers and grille get them WRAPPED instead. Truck will be black so it's not like they would have to do any serious color matching. I saw a pic of a nice ruby red 2017 that they color matched and it looks really good without that wall of chrome on the front.
I went with Xpel Ulitmate on my 2014 Shelby GT500. Excellent product, you'll be pleased. 10 year warranty too. Will not yellow and the edges aren't that noticeable on my Ingot Silver Cobra. Google the product and see what you think. Great piece of mind for me.
Only dealers I found for the Clear Bra are in Salt Lake. And I do not want the self install kit. Making a long road trip north next year and across some high speed gravel roads. Might be worth protecting the front end from flying rocks and stones.
I have Expel on my 2015 f350 and could not be happier the best guy around is in Plymouth, Mi. Clear auto bra of Michigan he get cars form all over the country shipped in I have the hood, rockers, door edges, door cups, headlights, and fog lights
Certain light and/or angles it's slightly seen....weeeeellll worth the cost to keep the paint nice.
Got the entire front end of my 2005 F150 covered incl the headlight/foglights, plus the front half of the roof, plus the door sills, rear portion of the tailgate from the crease down, above and below the tail lights to keep shoes from making marks while climbing in and out, and behind the Ford splash guards to keep the paint from rubbing off from vibration. I can't remember if I did the "A" pillars or not.
Not a chip on the truck! Anyone want to buy a PERFECT 2005 F150 S/C with only 40k miles? I want to get into a 2017 Super Duty!
Mine is getting done as I type. Find a good installer and it will be more than worth it. The SUPER DUTY will be a little tricky but they have their ways.
