Water in front differential

A few days ago I had my transmission and rear diff serviced. Well today I decided to do my transfer case, and front differential today. Well when I removed the nut on the front it started running out and it and it didn't look good.

Recently here in Louisiana we had a lot of flooding. My moms house flooded and I guess driving through the high water to get to her house to check on it, it must have got in through the vent hose. I wasn't aware that could happen. Hopefully it wont cause any problems down the road.

It sure would be nice if Ford would make the differentials with a drain plug. It was a pain trying to suck the fluid out. I will do it again tomorrow just to make sure it is all out.

Monday I will be doing my new brakes. I ordered the powerstop kit. It was cheaper than buying the Wagner stuff at the local auto shops, so I figured I would try them.

I hope everything came out alright, on your om's house, and on your truck.
And yes a drain plug would make it so much easier for some of us to service our trucks ourselves. And I'd sure rather do the work myself too. You save a chunk of money, and you know the work was done (Correctly) and what parts/fluids etc were used.

Thanks ubreal2. Her house did have to be gutted. We had to remove 4ft of sheetrock. We finally got some work started with a contractor. Unfortunately this is the second time. My whole family flooded for Katrina in the New Orleans area. Then we moved to Baton Rouge and are not even in a flood zone and she got 8". Just enough to ruin everything. All from heavy rain. Katrina was a major hurricane.

I don't care where you live, GET FLOOD INSURANCE. It's cheap.
