Help please

Hey guys I'm hoping someone can me with a problem I'm having. I have a 1978 f150 4x4 but the break lights to work and neither do my turn signals but my tail lights work but that's because thats a different wire but I have to use trailer lights for it bc it doesn't have a bed on it so the wires r cut at the very end on the back of the truck and idk which wire's go to where but I don't get any power to the wires and I have also changed my break switch and flashers things ( the metal round things) and I followed the wires from the break switch to the dimmer switch idk why they lead there but the dimmer switch is bad bc my high beams do not work but surely this would not stop my breaks and turn signals from working? Sorry I sound dumb I've worked on a lot of these but never had this problem so if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it thank you.

Everything goes through the turn signal switch on these, best bet is to pull the steering wheel and have a look-see. You can also use a test light to see if you are getting power to the switch and through it once the wheel is off. I had weird problems until I replaced the switch...
