Yes. Attached is a pic of the back side of an e99 HPOP. If it looks like this it is the e99. Supposedly, this is the only way to tell the difference "externally"....the rear cover. If there is another way I would like to know....
Yes. A Terminator T500 is a GREAT upgrade for an e99.
No doubt but I'm not going that route...not yet anyway.

I am confident that what I have is an L99 but I wasn't sure that they had the 17* pumps just yet. I'm about to embark on a project and I have access to an original L99 pump (pictured below) and an '03 remanned pump. I have been advised that 1) original HPOPs rarely go bad and 2) remanned HPOPs often go bad. So...that being the 17* pump means I got lucky. I am gathering the artillery for my project now.

The back plate on the pump does not always indicate 15* versus 17*. Joey at TE told me this. Before hearing that from him, I thought all 17* pumps had a hump on the back plate. He said they started doing that in 2001, IIRC. So you could have a 15* and 17* pump that look externally the same. I believe he said a better indicator was the PN (ex: 499c91) on the pump. Unfortunately, I do not know what part numbers reference to 15* and 17* pumps though.
