Well unfortunately at 31360 miles my truck just exhibit the dreaded Jackhammer effect with stuttering and lack of power, it only lasted a few moments and my dealer just flash the truck with the newest update he claims he must replace the driver side exhaust valves?? I find it quite disturbing they would do such a evasive procedure for a one-time incident so far. I'm not really concerned about his qualifications he's a nice guy I've known him for years he does good work I just can't afford to be without the truck for 3 or 4 days . They ordered all the parts today for the replacement and are just awaiting time for me to leave the truck with them. Now I know this is been discussed to death and there's a thread about it quite a few actually just wondering what you would do should I have them do it or wait to see if the new Flash helps he claims it could be catastrophic if it drops one of the exhaust valves?? Other than making a little extra oil I have observed no other unusual sound or fuel mileage still pulling great let me know what you think personally I think they're overreacting It's all under warranty anyway thanks again
go look in the big thread going on for the "jack hammering valves" lots of us just did the flash with no issues. I just did mine last week and I am very glad I did not have them tear into my engine! I am hopeful this will be the fix for my truck but I wont call it 100% fixed until I get through the end of the year without incident.
The diesel specialist at my dealer suggested not to open the engine and just do the flash. I took his advice and I would recommend that to anyone else. your truck is a 2016 so I imagine you have low miles.....I have 48k on my truck and I certainly didn't want the engine opened if it could be avoided.

2016 6.7
You're ordering a 2017 450 to put your 9.5' Fisher on to do real man work. Let your traded 16 be someone else's problem.
Well thanks for the suggestions I think I'm going to wait and see what happens. As far as sending the problem to the next owner I'd rather not do that to anyone I will have the truck fixed first and I'm not getting the new truck probably till March thanks again
