Ramp Storage

Good Morning Guys,

I am in the process of cleaning up/reorganizing the 5er and trying to make it easier to setup. Currently I keep the leveling ramps (6' 2x6) in the forward compartment. However all the chairs and other outdoor stuff gets thrown in there as well making it difficult to get the ramps out and put them away without emptying the compartment. That being said where do you guys keep your ramps? Custom storage on the bumper? Different Ramp/leveling solution?

Regards,

^^^ What Bud said. I have enough cr*p to haul around with out worrying about leveling ramps. Sky hooks take up less space and can be attached anywhere.

These are the ones I have because you can get them at Wal-mart locally.

https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Lynx-0001...eveling+blocks

Also, they make these nice chocks that fit into the blocks.

We have 3 bags of blocks and 2 chocks for our setup and have done very well with them.

under belly rack... a couple of "L" angle iron.. a few bolts...

I have a honey pot "Barker tote" under the front... and spare tire under the rear.

just make sure they do NOT hang down to far.. or you will rip them off.

out of the way, NOT seen, fairly easy to get to.

OFF TOPIC ALERT!!!

Chuck, any pictures of the Barker Tote being stored? We are just about to purchase our 1st 5th wheel and will be losing the storage space in the bed of the truck that we have had with our travel trailer. Looking for options to carry our "poop trolley" around.

I do not .. but will try tomorrow..

short diff. a metal shelving unit. the cheap type. overlap the L so twice as thick. making 2 horizontal arms.. using the metal shelves.. as a floor.
using light welded chain... one end bolted to frame... other end chain and carabineers with Eye bolts to frame.
all of this is just nuts and bolts.. no welding.

undo carabineers and lower to ground.. Tote rolls down and out..

will try for photo's tomorrow.

I have this mounted just a few inches in front of front trailer tires. I have a Barker 32 gallon with 4 air up tires.

yes it will get painted soon,
except for some hardware.. all is used/old...
I have traveled with this over 1000 miles over several trips this summer. not one issue.

the wheels roll right over the humps. the chain at the steering wheels is to keep it from moving.. handle is stored in rear compartment.

I used some old motorcycle drive chain.. you can use welded chain from home depot... as I did for the front holders.

AND YES, my back yard is always muddy... that is why the trailer is parked on 2x12 by 10 foot. with 3/8 all thread every 2 feet..
to install gravel its over 500 dollars. not in the budget. YET.
the little town I live in.. NOT allowed to park trailer in driveway for more than 24 hours.. but its OK to park it in back yard as long as you like.

Holy crap (pun intended) that is a great idea... No problems with the trolley platform hitting hills or bottoming out?

None, gas stations, driveways. Restaurants, as I go to Cracker Barrel for quick overnights. on longer trips.

I can have the nose of the trailer on the blacktop and no contact of the trolley platform.

my trailer is called a 29 foot.. but nose to bumper is 33 feet.

may not be easy to see in photo. but the platform is above the axles, by more than a few inches.
