Hey everyone, haven't visited in a while since I bought a house this summer and things have been crazy. I actually had some issues with my Bronco of course right after I moved in. So I ended up buying a commuter and put the Bronco to the side but recently got it registered and and have been driving it again.
So trying to make it long story short I lost the fuel pump in the truck and got stranded for 6 hours, changed it out, having to drop the tank was a bitch, thank god I the tank was almost empty. Then had a faulty throttle position sensor which made the truck run horrible.
After getting it all fixed the engine sounds great but what I've noticed is that if I traveling at about 40mph and left of the throttle the RPMs pulse back and forth between 1000 and 1500rpm and I can tell is stuck in gear. Any ideas on what to check? EGR valve?
Took the light bar and roof basket off so it can fit in the garage lol.
Hey Ryan, welcome back. I would go for the easy items first: get some throttle body cleaner and hit both the TB and the IAC. My IAC was nasty, even though it worked, your could be even worse. And of course, if you haven't done it, retrieve codes and see what's in the ECM.
Thanks, haven't had time to log in. I actually recently replaced the throttle position sensor so I ended up giving the throttle body a good cleaning. I'll check for codes as well, my column shifter broke so I need to get that fixed, luckily got it into drive when it broke to get it home.
