05 Escape

Does anyone know if this can be driven without the propeller joint shaft (4wd).
I'm out of state and cannot attempt to fix this for my son until I return.

The rear drive shaft? If yes then yes. I removed mine to find the noise thing. It was the center support bearing but drove it till winter with it out.
