Popping noise
I have a 86 f250 7.5 460 was driving on the freeway had a loud popping noise then the truck shut down got it towed home.
Turning the truck over wants to go but pops and bit and spit gas out the carb any ideals. I've had the timing chain replaced month ago brand new distributor wires and plugs done as well

Pull the #1 sparkplug out, and while someone bumps the engine over, hold your thumb over the sparkplug hole. When air starts pushing your thumb off the hole stop, and then turn the engine by hand till the pointer on the front pulley points to 10 BTDC. When you get that set, find the sparkplug wire that went to #1 cylinder, follow it up and make note of it's position on the dist cap. Pull the cap off. Is the rotor pointing to the spot where the #1 wire plugged into the cap?
