I have a 2000 EB Expedition and I'm trying to re-program the code for keyless entry. I've found the factory code but when I try to enter it, nothing happens. The keypad doesn't illuminate. Is there a fuse or something for this? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
when you hit the far right two keys simultaneously do you here the doors try to lock?
if you don't chances are that the key pad is dead....pretty sure all that's in there are thin copper contact sheets. .......had it replaced on my '99 xlt because of this issue........seems like ford likes those thin sheets of copper (cheap lightweight)'93 f-150 multi-function turn signal had this in the wiper part and wore out in 50,000 miles
I have a '99 Expy Eddie Bauer that I just purchased. I think that my key pad is dead, too. I can't even get the 7/8 and 9/0 to lock the door. I know how to take the key pad off, since I have already been inside the door to check it out. Any idea how much a new one is? I did see one on eBay a couple of weeks ago.

Its kind of unusual for all the switches in the keypad to be bad at the same time. If the keypad doesn't light up when a button is pushed I would do a little checking to make sure there is power to the rap module and everything is plugged in.
I just checked my keypad...it lights up when I press the 1/2 key and I noticed that there is no light around the 9/0 key. Is it true that the keypad will light and the interior lights will come on when the first correct key in the sequence is pressed? I ask because I mentioned that they will only light when I press the 1/2 key and my factory code (according to what's printed on the RAP) begins with a 5. I have not gone under the dash to check the wiring at the RAP yet.

<b>UPDATE</b>
I opened my door panel and removed my keypad to check continuity between the keys and ground. I was having trouble so I opened up the keypad. <b>CORROSION EVERYWHERE</b>.
I scraped off the corrosion and was able to lock and unlock the doors using the factory code. I will need to buy another keypad at some point, but I am satisfied that I found the problem.
