I'mean pretty sure I'm not building any excess pressure since everything was fine and then I did my radiator replacement and everything is screwed up. I've ruled out the radiator by replacing it again and the thermostat by removing it so the only thing is water pump. Of course you are talking about head gaskets which I don't want to hear at all lol but who does. I can't drive it at temp though considering it overheats. Only takes maybe 10 maybe 15 minutes to overheat and that is new. I've never had temp issues before.

Lol ok I mean I kinda got scared when it went from water pump to head gaskets. Not that Imuch in denial that I won't eventually do them but hopefully not right now that would suck for me. 87crew do you have a link to the amazon pump you speak of?

I PM'ed the link. There are only 2 left and I'm ordering one so act fast if it works for you.

There's only one left. It's for the newer larger impeller housing.

Metal Impeller Water pump

Any idea if that will work on an 03? Amazon says no, but I thought the BPD water pump had the 100mm impeller.

The '03 has its own design water pump.

I got this one for my '03 OAW F4130 it's on amazon $41 it's a metal impeller. I'm running it now though my pump wasn't my issue since I was there I replaced it. I did have to take a file to some rough parts on the fin ends but 5 minutes work and it seems to be doing great. It's not the bpd pump but it is pretty good for the money in my opinion

Jack,

Is it just the impeller size, or is it also the bolt pattern and/or shape of mating surface?

FWI, Napa rebuilt water pumps use a metal impeller. I have had one on my 03 ex for about 5yrs now. Must be a rebuilt pump not the new pump!

Yeah, that looks good. Thanks for the tip! Sixty bucks sure beats the 315 BPD's units cost.

I had replaced the radiator and one of the shipping plugs had gotten pushed into the radiator so I didn't see it. So when I installed the radiatorand ran the truck It was sucked into the water pump blocking flow.
