I jumped my neighbors Saturn 2 days ago. Before that, no lights. I noticed the light come on the next time I started the truck. The volt-meter shows 14-ish volts and the battery seems charged fine.
I dough that it is charging and you will have a dead battery in a few days.
See what happens to the voltage when you turn on the head lights and with the blower on high with it running.
I think you took out (shorted or open) diode in the alternator or its regulator.
If the voltage does drop under load their should be a field ground point at the back of the alternator (AC Generator) to bypass the regulator. Ground it and see if it charges but do not hold the ground very long or the alternator may overheat.
