x2. About the only way a stock 6bt will break anything is if you put a lot of weight in the bed, get it spinning really fast and dump the clutch. Any breakage that is a result of that is purely a result of it having a massive rotating assembly and a driver with questionable judgment, not massive amounts of torque. It makes 400ft*lbs stock which is about the same as what a EFI 460, 7.3 IDI or PSD puts out. The 1356 worked fine behind those. Pretty much anything you can replace the 1356 with will work just as well.

Maybe it is apples/oranges, but I would not, for instance, use the Mazda 5-speed in my F350 project (or, a D44 rear).

That's an NVG 271, if it bolts to the back of a 4R100 it will fit your ZF. I've never seen a cast iron adapter between the trans and tcase like that on a stock truck. If you get the tcase get the adapter too just in case you need it for some reason. Be sure to post some better pics if you get it.

It has to be a 5.4 truck. The 6.8 and 7.3 were different.
Also, if using this in a '91 or older truck you will lose the speedo.
