So just bought my first diesel it's a 2008 Ford F-250 with 189,000 miles got it for a fair price. Anyways shortly after leaving the dealer it went into limp mode while driving on the highway and didn't want to go past 2,000 rpms. It had lost all power so I just let it cruise at 60 mph. When the truck is cold it runs fine until it heats up then goes into limp. My buddy checked and it threw the P0088 code for high pressure. Also said it sounds as if one of the injectors are bad cause it makes a sputter noise and blows some black smoke. Truck is completely stock. I did some research and found you can flash it so not sure if it will help I'm gunna try tonight. The weird thing to me is at 162,347 miles the HPFP, sensor, and harness was all replaced. I went through the car fax report and called all the shops that services it. Is it possible that the pump went bad again already or what?? Also is the flash something that works or just short term. Looked at a lot of forums but rarely do people come back on to say after they do the flash. Any advice would be great it's my first diesel and don't know much.

Turn that baby around and get your money back from the selling dealer!
I tried they won't take it back but offered to fix the HPFP. Hopefully everything else will be okay but likes like I might have been scammed as far as the flash I won't be able to see till this Wednesday and I'm gunna run diag also.
