Glowing exhaust

My exhaust manifold was glowing red at the block front two cylinders only can somebody please tell me is this a timing issue or a cat problem? Forgot to mention that this is on a 300 inline. Thanx

Could be late timing, could be the air/fuel ratio, could be a clogged converter. Have you tried hooking up a vacuum gauge?

I haven't tried a vacuum gauge but I have replaced the timing gear and have had timing issues ever since
