Setting timing via vacuum gauge

Can the base timing of a stock 1984-1986, feedback carburetor with computer controlled ignition timing, engine be set using a vacuum gauge?

Hrmmm.... I don't see any reason why not. The computer only adjusts the advance, but the base timing is set by the rotation of the distributor like normal.
