Does anyone have a 5th wheel box --- box between the hitch and tailgate -- they would recommend. DW wants me to get the tool box out of the back seat when the F450 comes in.
I've seen what you mean...low lying tool box just inside the tailgate. Some have a "pass through" cut out section so you don't have to jack your fiver real high when hitching/unhitching. Have also seen the little rear corner tool boxes. Never used them because I thought it's just too much temptation for thieves to slide out of my truck and into theirs. I guess you could bolt the box to the bed. My bare necessity tools are in a little box under the rear seat and the serious tools are out of the way in the camper.

65Ford --- You got it. Im just hoping their are a few folks out there who might have one.
I have 1 and I love it. Only disadvantage is with my particular box is it doesn't open all the way when hooked up to the 5er (its just a low profile chest box bolted to the bed). I bought it used on CL not sure of the brand I will look and see if I can find any markings on it.
I have recently put an "Undercover swing box" in my bed, I was fed up with keeping "stuff" in a storage box at the front of the bed which is a pain to access. It leaves plenty of room in the bed & is lockable.

I like this one but I need to do some measuring to see if my Retrax cover will clear.

I've never paid attention when I had to jack knife the trailer in to a spot but would that interfere with the unhooking and driving away. Possible hitting the box.
