After watching craigslist and seeing all the people that are obviously on crack when seeing the prices of JUNK....I finally got a 'Good' deal on a 72 F250 Explorer, 390/c6,D60/4.10's...here it is!..
Thanks! I read your build over and over...when this one "grows up" I want it just like yours..lol But I will probably leave it a 3/4t...but a compound turbo 4bt would be AWESOME.
I only paid 1500 for it. My plans are to use it to pull my BBQ trailer when it's completed. It was repainted about 10-12 years ago by Maaco...the pics look better than in person, but its still pretty nice.
I am going to gather parts for a while and when the time is right, I will tear it down to restore.
Great price for that truck...your patience paid off. I have a straight original '69 Ranger 360 M/T that needs a new engine and I think I could get $1500 for it. Yours was a better deal.

Thanks. I highly recommend you do a 6bt with the 47RH Trans. It will be easier and cheaper with endless power capability.
Well, I got 'er home this weekend, put a new fuel pump, changed the oil, set the timing to 12*, set point gap to .017"(was at .009!) and gapped the plugs at .035(was .055!) Now it runs GREAT! Even my wife likes this one! She has hated all the other Fords I have ever owned..lol
Very nice for the money. Patience is a good thing. So is living somewhere that you can find one in that condition in the first place. I paid almost that much just for shipping!
BTW what does 6bt or 4bt mean? and that tranny that what mentioned? 47-something?
Never mind. Looked them up. Yikes! Lotta cash for a change in powertrain.
