For the love of God WHAT IS THE BEST BEST RV/TORQUE CAM 351M?

I have been through hundreds of threads on 2 different forums and I cant get a straight answer.

What is the best performing RV cam for the 351M?

Ive got a recently rebuilt bone stock 351M that Id like a step up over stock, make some more torque and better MPG without having to replace valve springs, etc.

Please refrain from telling me to make it a 400, too bump my compression, install timing chain straight up, 351Ms are junk, put in a cummins or a 460, yada yada yada. Ive read all of that.

78 Supercab 3:55's, np205/435 on 33's. Eddy intake and not sure what carb im goin to use. True duals with factory manifolds foir now.

THANK YOU!

The best use of your money would probably be use of the stock cam and a aftermarket timing set. I doubt you will see much of a gain with any different camshaft just use more gas. You could probably play with the timing curve a little too.

I would give these guys a call.
I've heard nothing but good things about them and will be using them for my next build.
Cam Reseach ? Custom Ford Camshafts | The experts in custom-ground Ford camshafts
They even have a machine to break the cam in on before they ship it to you if you choose to go that route.
I would also install a straight up timing set with whatever cam you end up installing.

x2 Call Cam Research. Its not that expensive up front. Had them break in a cam for me and wished I would have called them in the first place.

That's a pretty ambiguous question. Like asking someone, "When did you stop beating your wife?"

What's your intended use of the vehicle? A mall crawler or a DD? Towing, hauling, etc? Show vehicle or Sunday driver?

What gearing/tires/carb/intake/exhaust are you planning to use/upgrade or are you staying with the same set up you now have? Unless you up your compression ratio you're stuck with the high 7's - low 8's and your choice of cams is limited.

PA74F250 said it best, in my opinion, and without any additional information, I would stick with his suggestion.

I tried a couple of different cams and was really unhappy. I ended up with the Melling Performance cam and the Milodon double roller chain timed straight up. But the most improvement was recurving the distributor. There are several articles on the internet about recurving the centrifugal and vacuum advances in the distributor and would provide you with a wealth of information.
