It was 27 years old with the original main bearings in it when he turn the engine upside down the pistons just fell out on the floor . Thats wore out . An it ran great without any crap on it for a year after the new engine . So if the computer dident have any trouble before why just now ? Dosent ad up .
Ur rite plugs do go bad an wires . May give it a go did look a few an looked ok but u never know . As far as computer go's its gone .

Well if the computer is gone and you are still running the computer controlled carb & dist. then you were lucky it ran as good as it did for as long as it did.
And if the above is true you need to either go full old school with the carb & dist. OR add back the computer controlled equipment & computer and let it do it's thing.
So what have you found when you gave it a look over? Bad plugs or wires?
What is the timing set at and does it advance? What does the carb do, is it working as it should?

An I remember rite when this happen I'm in a rain storm driveing down the interstate an hit a huge pot hole an broke a big hole in the exhaust manifold
Do I understand this correctly?: Regardless of any previous modifications, the truck was running fine until you hit a giant pothole? Did the problem start at that very moment?
Yes thank you . Yes that very instant . So hard it busted the exhaust manifold . Yesterday I bound a broke red wire from the ignition swith . It has current when the key is on . I've looke at wire diagrams but don't show wire in color . This could b it but unsure where it goes . Thinking the starter solenoid . ?? Any help would b great .

Oy very! That must have been one hard hit. I'd have expected the exhaust pipe to bend before the manifold broke. How exactly did the manifold break? Did the motor lift up and pull on the exhaust pipe until the manifold snapped? If so, you've got at least one broken motor mount. I'd change them both.
If the motor lifted up, I wonder if this could have tugged on some wires. I'd suggest a careful visual inspection of all wires between the motor and chassis. Keep in mind the motor may have twisted while in mid-air, so the wires may have been stretched to the side, not just straight up and down. Pay attention to the ground cable between the engine block and frame, too.
I also wonder if the impact shock could have caused the timing chain to jump. That might explain the backfiring. Not sure of the best way to check. As previously suggested, run a cranking compression test as a first step? Hopefully somebody more in the know will chime in.

You will need to be more specific with the location. You mentioned "from the ignition switch". Does that refer just to having power with the key on, or are you talking about the physical location?
If you have a broken wire in hand, hopefully you can match up the corresponding piece based on what's in the proximity. And by "broken", you mean exposed strands, right? I want to make sure you weren't talking about a connector floating around with nothing attached. The wiring harnesses were generally universal and designed for all options. If a certain component was not installed, you'll still see a connector but it isn't hooked up to anything.
